Zuka Advent 2020 Day 4: Maaya Kiho

Day 4: Maaya Kiho
Right so Maaya Kiho is literally MY QUEEN and my favourite Musumeyaku (right now anyways). She has the voice of a literal angel and 1000% wears the pants in Daikiho so I have to stan. She has INCREDIBLE range (this is a trend I guess) and FANTASTIC control over her voice and as someone who's trained as a mezzo, let me tell you, those quiet high notes she sings in Phantom (2018) are not easy. Maaya Kiho is a master of singing just as much as Daimon is and deserves that respect (i'm looking at you, Hank)!!
What is your favourite role and why? Her Christine Daae in Phantom is 100% at the top of my list, but believe it or not what blew me away the most was her role as Mme Wolf in the Elisabeth (2014) Shinko! That shinko is... well it's something. But then Kiichan pops up and steals the show and I think about that a lot (I wanna hear her low range again). Special shoutout goes to Marie-Anne in Robespierre because holy SHIT does that role continue to show off her amazing acting skills.
What is your favourite thing about them? I think A LOT about how Kiho dreamed of being an Otokoyaku, was too short, and instead of quitting decided to do the Musumeyaku exam and not only passed but ended up being top one day. She's incredibly determined and i'm so excited to see where her career post-Zuka takes her (I'm convinced she's already signed like. 5 contracts.).
I also think a lot about that time her, Daimon, and Saki went to Paris and while Daimon and Saki took respectable sips of their fancy alcohol, Kiho just downed the whole fuckin thing. Girl likes to party. I stan.
What would you like to see them do? EVERYTHING. MAAYA KIHO DESERVES THE WORLD (AND ACTUALLY GETTING TO DO STUFF). But here's the obligatory "please let Kiho be Elisabeth she'd be too powerful it'd be great".
I've, admittedly, been on a bit of a Tsuki kick as of *checks watch* the past 12 hours since Pigalle came into my life so we might be dipping our toes into something a bit different tomorrow. Stay tuned.
